Fire Station Tour

Last week, for one of the many things we look for to do here in UT during the winter season, we went on the tour of the new fire station on 33rd south. It was really fun. They show you around, let you get in the fire engine and even dress you up like a Fireman. The best part- was when I got to slide down the pole. It swallowed me alive, because there is a door that opens once a person's weight is on the pole so they can pass through to the other level. I didn't weigh enough, and slid right down with 3 doors slapping me on the way.

Firemen, though they do have very hard jobs and put their lives on the line, have a sweet bachelor pad there in Millcreek. Their kitchen is AWESOME and there is a room full of 8 lazy boys for each of them. All they need is an XBOX and they're set.

This was one of our favorite things to do when we lived in Canyon Rim, and when the kids were little! I had no idea there was a new fire station - did it move from Evergreen Ave? Fun stuff!

So fun, my kids would love something like this. I guess I need to get out more. Now I just need a nanny to come with me!

It was sweet...speaking of poles...reminds me of a recent conversation. Anyhow, a fun tour and it was nice that the firemen wanted to provide safety education, as well.."If there is smoke or a fire in your house what do you do?"
"Don't hide Go outside!" All together now.
