SURGERY DATE

The "cardiothorasic surgery department" called and Surgery will be scheduled for June 30. Jack's surgeons will review the results of the cath and proceed with surgery on the 30th. That is two weeks after the cath. They tell us that Jack should refrain from being around large groups and other children for 4 weeks after surgery, and then refrain from "exerted physical activity" for another 4 weeks after that. So basically, we need to tie him down somewhere for two months.
Just kidding.
The main concern is keeping is sternum from shifting and protecting his chest wound until the Doctors say he's all healed.
We will go to Primary's on sunday the 29th for pre-op, where they will do lab work, and try unsuccessfully to draw his blood until the IV Team is called...which is usually the case with Jack. He is a difficult stick.
To keep you all update on the next few months there is a link on the right of this page at the top. I'll update it as often as there is news, and we will have internet access during surgery- while we wait...and wait. So there will be frequent updates.
Thank you to all for your love and prayers and support- here's to the next two weeks of freedom!

I know that you don't know me at all (except for the nuggets of miscellaneous Cameron trivia that can be found on my blog), but any relative of Laura is a relative of mine.

I just want you to know that your son is adorable and he'll be our prayers. I'm not just saying that either. He really will be.

And I have a suggestion for keeping him calm. Go buy Season 1 and 2 of Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears. He'll watch it over and over, I promise. I'd lend you mine, but we can't find Disc 1. We have the case, we just can't find the DVD. It's probably in our garage.

Oh my goodness. FOUR WEEKS?!?!? We're going to have to get you TONS of Yo Gabbas for your iPod!

I'm glad you've got the dates now, though. I'm glad that doesn't have to be a big question mark in your head anymore. Also, we'll have to hang with Jack non-stop as we are "other children" and shall not be allowed soon!

See you in Provo in a few hours!

Wow. It will be interested to see how you keep a 2 year old from exerting physical activity.

Not another chest wound. Poor baby. I'm glad I'll be here during the surgery though. I'm just a phone call away. And Lila loves Jack so if I need to leave to come watch him she'll have no objections.

Speaking of leaving work. I'll see in in about 90 minutes.

Aw, Jackie poo. I will do whatever I can to help out. Finding something to occupy his time is going to be a hard one for such an active little boy! I will do some research on that one:)

Go Jack! We are praying for you!

Lisa, so my camera was left outside on a lawn chair, and the sprinklers got it. Not sure if it is covered under warranty yet. Disgusting huh? Our stupidity.

Because having a baby isn't complicated enough, you have to deal with all of this, right?

Both my boys sit still through Signing Time DVDs. All the lovely babysitting of the t.v. but yet less mom-guilt because the child is "learning" something.
