Lost for Love

So Christmas is hard enough, right, to come up with JUST THE RIGHT gift for your spouse. Which I did. The guitar. It was awesome and appreciated. But now, all of a sudden here I am scrapping for creative idea on what to do for Josh for Valentines. And this is really sad because this is what, our 4th or 5th Valentine's, and we have a gazillion more. But this one, I am stuck. So I ask for your help. I'm reaching out, to steal other people's creative gifts. Yes. That's right. Cough it up.

To be honest, I don't know what I gave him last year. And the year before was full of Jack chaos so I don't think it existed, then the one before that may hae been awesome...but I just forgot...

It can't be done with a card, or chocolates or flowers. That is too cliche' for V-day now-a-days. There are people out there that have traditions..and I think that is the direction I'd like to head so I don't have to worry about this every year.

So please. Josh never reads this, he barely knows it exists. Send forth your brilliance and give me some great ideas. Thank you- and happy Valentine's Day.

Psych Analysis

Last year Jack was put through a pyschiatric analysis because he is involved in a study due to his heart defect. He had to do many many ridiculous tests like put the lid on the cap, and point to the dolls head, and put the green thing into the other green thing, and put these sugar pills into their container (without eating them)...
But at the end the Dr. told me that Jack was doing just fine developmentally,and if anything, he should work on "stacking" because it will help with his math skills in the future..
So this is where we are now.













He is very precise, and he takes his time, and can get them quite high. And with the letters, they always have to be facing up.













However- Jack is not always spending his time doing such productive and beneficial activities. At times he just lets his hair down and drives around naked.



I wonder what the Dr. would say now....

B&W Holga's

I know these are on my "photography" blog, but since Google Analytics shows that no one goes there I wanted to put these here cause I think they're cool. These are from my first BW roll on my Holga. It seems to work best in high contrast situations like snow...and such.

Head Games

So more than often, while driving around in the car, I'll look back to check on Jack and he will have something on his head. Whatever he can reach- he will balance on his head for some reason. So thank heavens for my camera phone.
I think it goes: blanket, faux chinchilla head band, tiger, Snoopy, Juice cup, Driver toy.

Torn between two Loves.

It's a beautiful day up in Heaven. Jesus is rounding up his tiniest
angels, to go live on earth, and be born.

One of the sweetest angels says to Jesus "I dont want to leave, I
like it here, and I will miss you." He reassures the scared little
angel that everything will be okay, and that he is just going for a
visit.

He is still not swayed on this idea. So Jesus, kneels down, and
says "How about if you leave half of your heart here with me and
take the other half with you, will that be okay?" The angel smiles
and says "I guess that will work".

But the little angel is still a little scared. He askes "Will I be
okay with only half of my heart?" Jesus replies, "Of course you
will, I have other angels there that will help out, and you will be
fine."

Then Jesus gives the angel more details about his plan, he
says "When you are born, your Mommy will be scared, so you have to
be strong, and when you feel weak just remember that I have the
other half of your heart."

"Enjoy your time with your family, play
and laugh everyday."

"And when its time to come back to Heaven, I will make your heart
whole again." "Always remember, that you are not broken, just torn
between two loves."

Class of '99 WHOO!

So I had dinner with some friends...or more frankly, I invited myself to a dinner that someone ELSE threw for their friends...who I also consider to be my friends.. yes. That sounds good.

Turn up your volume. It's worthless without sound. The best five seconds ever. Don't ask me why I think this is the funniest thing in the world.

Mommy's Little Artist

New Years Eve-ning...

Though I wish I could stay up and just PARTY HARD ALL NIGHT LONG!!! ...I made the decision that that wasn't going to be an option for a long long time when I chose to have Jack.
However, despite the fact that we went to bed around 10:30 or so, we had a BLAST at the Okubo's beforehand.
To explain who the Okubo's are, those of you who know Jen, my BFF for life, has a boyfriend named BRICE who has an awesome family that so generously took us in. It has sort of become a tradish, since we did the same thing last year.
The house is always full of yummy smells and every hall is decked with holiday fun and the people are always a hoot.
The Guitar Hero doesn't hurt either. But since we only had two guitars amongst the 25 people, we settled for good old fashioned "Round the World" ping-pong.
